STEM Week, Waikowhai Student Led Toolkits

 Malo e lelei bloggers.

Today, I am going to be sharing about the WPS Student Led Toolkits we had last week which was STEM Week, you could be wondering, what does STEM stand for? It stands for Science Technology Engineering Maths. There were 24 people that were presenting their own toolkit, and there were 12 toolkits, each toolkit was been presented by 2 or 3 people. Before the Student Led Toolkits that happened on Friday last week, we had a google form to fill in, and the Student Led toolkits was only for the Middles and Seniors, and Presenters only for the seniors. We had to fill in our name and tick the three toolkits you want to choose to learn about. The toolkits I chose were 1 = Google Maps, 2 = Word Art, 3 = Webcam Toy. Now lets talk about our toolkits.

1 = Google Maps

We did Google maps for our first toolkit. The 2 presenters were Daniel and Mahdi, we did a Sandpit challenge that was to make the longest drive from Auckland to Nelson to Christchurch in 15 min, mine was 41 hrs and 2,616 km. Here is a link to Google Maps maps.google.com and if it comes up with a notice, just press the 1st link.

2 = Word Art

We did Word art for our second toolkit. The 2 Presenters were Vivian and Hazel, we did a Sandpit Challenge that was to make the most Word arts in 15 min, I made it to 3. Here is a link to word art wordart.com

3 = Webcam Toy

We did Webcam Toy for our last toolkit. The 2 Presenters were Daiki and Dustine, they did not have a Sandpit challenge but we only get to have fun on webcam toy, there were cool effects like fire pic and a lot more. Here is a link to Webcam Toy webcamtoy.com

Overall, I think it was very cool and fun to learn these type of toolkits. Here is some pictures of the Toolkits. Blog you later!

Orienteering Practice And Orienteering Mapping!!

 Orienteering and Mapping!!

Sveiki tinklaraštininkai = Hello bloggers in Lithuanian

Today I am going to be sharing about the Orienteering Practice and the Orienteering Mapping. The only times there is orienteering are every 4 years so this year was orienteering and the last one was on the year 2017 and the one before 2017 was 2013. You might be wondering what Orienteering is?? It's a running race with a map you will collect and same as everyone else. And the map is used for the marks where you get a paper and the marks are where you get the stump and place it on the first number or letter. It will be easy at the start but it will be so hard at the end because some people won't have enough energy.

Now lets move onto the Orienteering mapping. . .

I am going to be sharing about the Orienteering Mapping. So all of the seniors made their own Orienteering Map and then you can create the ways for the marks and then tell where is it at but you don't type the actual place, you just need to type like e.x. Middle Field or Shrub Branches. Here is the Map I had.

DRUM ROLL... 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 It's the Ball Pit, a lot of kids has never been, well... now we had some fun, the ball pit was so tall and it was about 1,16m. That's simular to my height = 1,39m!! Then we went to a Chain Room, then the Sparkle Room, and then the Ducky Bathtub... the background was filled with Duckies, and the bathtub filled with yellow balls. Then we make it to an Upside Down Bedroom, we made a pose and it's like we are falling down the bed. There is a lot more and we finish with a Confetti Blower, we get inside the bubble, and the Confetti blow's out from the bottom.

Then last of all, we went to the #soundfun, were we get to play the instruments like the Trumpet, the Drums and for the Digital, Piano. We started with the instruments and then we get to choose where we get to go with the other instruments. So I went to the Digital instruments, like the Piano and more, I did very well with those things and the best part was actually the Piano.

Under The Wires, Anzac!

 Under The Wires!!

Malo e lelei to all the bloggers around the World!!

Yesterday, the 14th of April, Te Waka Ako did a challenge called Under the Wires!!      So it's like a trench in WW1, There were the innocent people fighting in the war are so they can be safe.                                                                                                                                It started in 1914 and ended in 1918.  If you don't know what trench means but it was not real, it was a game, if you touch a wire or go over the wire, you lose a point and after you lose a point, you get a punishment so everyone had 9 points and we had to do press-ups, planks and other. For maths, we had a basic facts test, and we got distracted with some war music. If you are wondering, what a Basic facts test is, it's a maths test warm up, most people's average was around 40 to 70. And when we were crawling,

It was so hard that we got a few Carpet Burn's.

Here is mine and other's pic dictations.

(Family Fun Day!!)

hint + ahiahi marie = good afternoon 😃Family Fun Day😃

2021

Ahiahi marie bloggers,

Today, I am going to share about the Family Fun Day on Friday last week.

It was really fun, we get to go to the Bouncy Castle, the Wet Bouncy Castle, Wheels and best for last, the Slip n Slide, My most favourite part was the Wet bouncy Castle because you got to walk on the ladder and then you can go down to the slide into the mini water tub, it was really cold, same as the Slip N Slide but the longer we are in the water. It gets warmer because of the people, they were in stations, and we were in House groups. The house group were Ruru, Kea, Tui and Pukeko, I was in Kea, so that means that we start with the Slip N Slide, Ruru starts in the Wheels, Tui starts in the bouncy castle, and Pukeko starts in the Water Bouncy castle. It started at 9:30am, it finished at 2:25pm, we had lunch at 11:40am and finished at 12:30pm, I was sitting with my friends, eating pasta and some other things.

Here is some pictures about it!!

Earthquake and Tsunami, Emergency Pack!!

 Earthquake and Tsunami Emergency😑😑😑

Hi bloggers that are here from NZ or from the global,

Today, I am going to share more about the Earthquake and the Tsunami that happened Friday last week.

On Friday last week at 2:27am in the Pit black midnight, There was a earthquake in the East, It was in the ocean, The feeling was a severe and people that were swimming in Auckland, or in the West AKL, South AKL or in the North AKL, and the Tsunami.

When the Tsunami comes in the East and you are in Hastings or in Waipu, I´d say that you will need to evacuate if you are in these places or city's in the North Island.

So... my teacher (Ms Sands) had to evacuate because that´s where it was at, and that was Waipu, the bad part was that a lot of people had come at her house and the neighbour´s house and unfortunately, someone passed away over there. And just in case, here are some things you will need in a emergency pack.

  • First Aid Kit
  • Medication
  • Radio
  • Toilet Paper
  • Sunscreen
  • Blankets/Pillows
  • Torch/Batteries
  • Backpack
  • Umbrella
  • Fly Spray/Insect Repellent
  • Tarpaulin
  • Pack of Cards or Travel Games
  • Waterproof Jacket/Clothing
  • Water

Back to Level 2!! Auckland Lockdown...

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today we are back in Level 2 Covid-19, actually we went in lockdown yesterday on Sunday, 7th March, and I am going to be sharing what I did in lockdown.

So while we were put into the 7 days of lockdown at Auckland, we had a slideshow from our teachers, so we can put our work in our slideshows, we had to do Reading, Writing, Maths, and Other. The other could be like drawing, sports and Science.

And those are (your choice), so since it was my choice, I would try to do every one of them, I couldn´t do all of them but I did a lot.

This lockdown was the 4th Lockdown in Auckland and the rest of the country have had 1 lockdown so far...

If you have seen my last blog, it was about the Tsunami, it was happening in lockdown, It was coming to Auckland, but luckily it passed Auckland, so that means that its not coming to Auckland.

Here is the slideshow showing my work so you can have a look. And if there is any bitmojis, those are marked from my teachers.

Tsunami Today... and Fancy Freaky Friday meets!!

Ata Marie bloggers.

Today I am going to share 1 thing that´s unfortunate and 1 fun thing about our meets.

Lets start with the unfortunate part, so in the news, we heard that a Tsunami will be coming or going to be here soon because the last few days, it was a quite strong rain, and normally after 3 days or more, and the next day is sunny, there will be a tsunami or a earthquake, before there was a earthquake at 2:27am in midnight. It was in New Zealand so I mean it was EVERYWHERE in NZ, After 11:35AM in the next day, everyone who had a phone had a Alert of the Level Rise and when it is coming and where it rising, Luckily its not in AKL Because that´s where we are.

Now the special part, when we were doing our meets our amazing teachers told us that on the Friday Meets, we can be wearing as fancy or freaky costume or face paint (if you want). so I wore some sunglasses and a space suit, here is a picture about the Tsunami and the Meets. BYL!!

Welcome to 2021!!/ Bubbys!!

Maleo e lelei= Hello in tonga,  bloggers.

Welcome to 2021!! The new 2020, and this year we kinda did science and its called the Bubbles, and we saw how to use plastic with the plastic bottles.

We started off playing with the bubbles and we made our own game. To make a game, you need a group of 4, we called our game Dodge Bubble.

How we play is we get 2 opponents to be dodging and 2 people to blow, I was one of the dodgers, we each had 10 lives and we started with a practice with 20 lives, I made it to 12 lives, then we did the REAL Round. Dun dun DUUN.

I lost, I got hit 11 times and that's so close. Then we switched,

BYL!!!
